This is the place where you can personalize your profile!
But, how?
By moving, adding and personalizing widgets.
You can drag and drop to rearrange.
You can edit widgets to customize them.
The left side has widgets you can add!
Some widgets you can only access when you get a premium membership.
Some widgets have options that are only available when you get a premium membership.
We've split the page into zones!
Certain widgets can only be added to certain zones.
"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!
Now go forth and astound us all with your devious profiles!
Apparently instead of every month, I write in my journal every season. Heh.
Still struggling with illness, but now that summer is here I have a lot of time to just...draw. Finally. Just draw and color and do what I want. I'm really excited about this. My gallery is so clogged with school stuff, it's boring.
I went and logged into my other accounts on DA to clear the messages out since DA is unimaginably stupid and does not let you delete your account. I found out that I have been on Deviant Art for 6 years, with a collective amount of page hits of about 8,000. Even on this account, where my art is the most improved and up to date...I don't even have 20 watchers. Half of the ones I do have, are my personal friends who don't even use their accounts half the time.
I find this extremely pathetic and sad. >.> Especially when there are people on DA that have over 1 million views, over 3,000 watchers, and hundreds of comments on every single deviation. And all they do is take pictures of themselves in cosplay. Or someone who may be an amazing artist but...all they ever draw is fanart of the same pairing from one fandom only, and they happen to be going to school for chemistry? What does that say for the rest of us who actually were hoping to do this for a living? It scares me is what.
I was wondering how to get myself out there and I thought of a few things I could do, starting with just plain need to upload more art. I just don't really have much to look at in the first place. Secondly is to go around commenting and actually make some collections of favorites. I know when people favorite my stuff, I go and look at their gallery. When people comment, and have an interesting avatar, I tend to click on it. Thirdly is to maybe join some clubs on DA. I don't really like to but it could be a good idea. Could be a good idea to join some communities on LJ, too. Where I can post and it will direct people here. Lastly, it's true. If you want the fans you have to do what the fans want. That means drawing the popular stuff. This doesn't necessarily mean it will come up in search cause lets face it, DA's search is flawed in so many unfair ways it's practically disgusting.
So, it's time for an adventure, I guess. We'll see how it goes.
The amazing person you see before you is currently a Studio Art and Design student. Her main exports include schoolwork, fanart, cosplay products and photography, and random crafty projects. Enjoy with caution. Wash your hands afterwards.
